Welcome to my blog  - a journal of my recovery from religious trauma and domestic abuse, and my journey to freedom and healing. It is the foundation for my developing memoir Over the Moon. At 19 I joined a high-demand religious movement called the Unification Church, aka Family Federation for World Peace and Unification  (FFWPU) or 'the Moonies'. Some called it (and still do) a cult. Others see it as holding the keys to world peace. I'd found the returned Christ, the 'new Truth' and a blueprint to build the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth based on heavenly marriages.

While I work on my recovery from soul-destroying elder and sexual abuse in the movement,  I also reflect on the positives of my community experience. My blog also follows my sometimes 'whacky' and sometimes wonderful, spiritual journey through the Moonie, other sects, New Age and  Christianity. I acknowledge that there are cultic people and behaviours in all religions and other human constructs, and that other members, past and present, of the Unification Church/FWFP will have their own story. This blog and my upcoming memoir is mine.
